These are great tires and I've driven over 1 million miles in 13 cars and trucks. I now have 9500 miles on these tires in both city and highway use and they are wearing great and still smooth and quiet. If the tires are correctly inflated and your shocks are in good shape, you can't beat their ride. I will definitely buy again.
First off I like to autox for fun so I know what to look for in a tire and how to test them. I had skinnier 175/65 yokahama's before these and those were far better than these-more grip, better turn in. Yes these have a smoother ride with no confidence for emergency maneuvers. And i have them inflated to 42psi and 44 is the max. Any less and these are scary when it comes to avoidance maneuvers, its like driving on marshmallows (not good) !! Next time I will try the toyo because they actually make tires for track racing and do it very well. Granted any other tire in this price range will be a turd as well. These are incredibly soft and i don't expect more than 30-40k out of them if Im lucky. If you need a cheep tire go with the Toyo's because they are the only company producing a tire cheaper than the Yokohama's and they are one of the few manufacturers that supply racing series. I only bought these based on the reviews on Tire Rack which my guess is that they are bogus or from people who are not knowledgeable in how a tire should perform in a emergency situation and lets face it, isn't that the most important aspect of a tire. So many people dont care and cheap out and just say sure whatever but they shouldn't because that is the one thing that could save them from an accident besides being distracted.
